Cyclops - bino-telescopeWhen is a telescope not a telescope
- when it's a Cyclops.

  • Higher resolution than conventional telescopes
  • A new experience in long-term observation

Why the Cyclops? Because two eyes are better than one!
Here at Monk Optics we have been specialising in binoculars for over 27 years and our conclusion has always been; two eyes are better than one.

So if you are looking for a high-powered observation telescope that allows you to use both eyes that is crystal clear, that will give you hours of fatigue free viewing, enjoyed by the whole family, the Cyclops is the answer.

First impressions count

Your first glance through this bi-ocular telescope will have immediate impact because of its optical clarity and ease-of-use. By using the centre focusing wheel for both eyes the image snaps into sharp focus across the full field of view with outstanding contrast and good light transmission. The Cyclops ability to focus down to 6m at 26x magnification can only be described as breathtaking, when viewing birds and wildlife for the most detailed clarity imaginable. Long-distance viewing will have equally outstanding performance, enabling the user to easily follow moving boats and crafts with its wide angle of vision and fast focusing, bringing objects into detailed vision quickly.

It all seems so very simple why hasn't it been done before?
To convert a telescope into a bi-ocular scope requires a beam splitter that splits the light equally to both eyes from the objective lens. This process is difficult and expensive to do; consequently cost has been too prohibitive to be viable, so telescopes with just one lense have been the only choice until now (other than very expensive, heavy and bulky giant binoculars). At Monk Optics we have been involved with the research, development and design, optimising a unique product over the past two years and we are now proud to be the exclusive suppliers of this highly recommended and affordable bi-ocular telescope.

Which model to choose?

Cyclops on telescopic pedestal

90mm Cyclops- Bi-ocular telescope

This model comes complete with 26x eyepieces for optimised magnification, brightness and field of view. By unscrewing the beam splitter and taking out the eyepieces the complete unit can be packed away in its soft carry case which fits into its own aluminium case.

90mm Cyclops- Dual magnification - Bi-ocular telescope NEW

This new model comes complete with 26x eyepieces for optimised magnification, brightness and field of view, plus a second set of 14mm (39x) eyepieces for those who want that bit more magnification. We recommend the Cyclops 90 models with a tripod for general use, where good views can be appreciated in more detail, whether inland or out to sea. For static use in a home where design and aesthetics are valued, the Monk adjustable telescopic pole stand with it’s clean lines and minimalist appearance adds a desirable finishing touch.

110mm Cyclops- Bi-ocular telescope

We recommend this model for static positions in the home or office where panoramic views can be appreciated and enjoyed. To show off its unique design and fine lines the adjustable pole stand is most suited. The model comes complete with interchangeable 26x and 47x eyepieces for maximum power and performance. By unscrewing the beam splitter and taking out the eyepieces the complete unit can be packed away in its soft carry case which fits into its own aluminium case.

Don't take our word for it - try it for yourself
We make no fancy promises about it being the world's most powerful binocular/telescope or the world's most compact high-powered telescope, we simply offer sensible magnification with a good-sized objective lens for good light transmission that allows the same clarity and detailed vision 26x greater than the naked eye. We will send either model out on approval so that you can experience for yourself what makes this Cyclops so special and why confidence can be assured when buying from the specialists. We only sell binoculars- it's our life, it's our living.

cyclops bino-telescope on tripodSo now you want a Cyclops but what about the tripod!
This is when you know you are dealing with the specialists - we have put as much time selecting, perfecting and designing 2 optional tripods as we have selecting and perfecting the Cyclops. We offer a strong, light weight rigid tripod that guarantees a steady image, and a specially selected semi fluid mount for smooth and precise panning facilities. Alternatively for those requiring a more streamlined and minimalist look we have designed our own in-house gas-assisted, height-adjustable pole stand, that has full adjustment for seated or standing position.

digi-scoping adapterThe digiscoping adaptor allows users of the Nikon Coolpix P6000 cameras (only) to take high-resolution pictures through the Cyclops. The adapter permits pictures to be taken at 26x magnification, and may be fitted in place of one lens in the beam-splitter while viewing through the other.
Once correctly set both focusing of the camera and eyepiece will be instantaneously permissible by using the centre focus wheel of the Cyclops. By using the remote lead virtually every shot will give high-definition pictures - see examples below.
